2025 Bible Reading Challenge

2025-05-12 12:00 2025-05-12 13:00 America/Chicago 2025 Bible Reading Challenge

Welcome to the 2025 Bible Reading Challenge with a CHONOLOGICAL twist! Here is what you can expect from me: Each week I will post that week’s entire reading plan, along with the following two weeks for those of you who would like to see what is coming. I will update periodically throughout the week some important facts or teachings that I think will help impact your journey. Questions that you can complete with yourself, a partner, or on our social media platform. Please feel free to ask any questions throughout. I promise if you are thinking about it, someone else will. Before we begin, whether you have never read the entire Bible before or have read it multiple times, I encourage you to look at the Bible through the following lens: Scripture is a story about God…not about you or me. It isn’t about checking the right boxes or learning to be a good person. That will come when we learn more about the God who created us! So ask yourself the following questions: What does God say or do in this passage? What does this reveal about what is important to God and what he loves? What does it tell me God hates? What motivated God to do what He did? What did you learn about God while reading? Decide that you were push through the things that seem frustrating and boring. YES…the Old Testament has a lot of rules we no long follow. YES…there will be names you won’t understand. YES…the book of Numbers is incredibly dry! The reason I have chosen for us to do the story in chronological order is for us to truly gain the perspective from the author IN the appropriate time frame. This makes a huge difference. Be careful not to draw conclusions about God before reading the ENTIRE story! I was guilty of this for YEARS and it really hurt my ability to see the world through the eyes of God! The Bible is a story of God pursuing His people despite their overwhelming sin. God doesn’t reveal himself completely all at once. But like a good puzzle, one missing piece can ruin the entire picture. Be patient; allow God to wrestle and challenge you; pray for wisdom and for God to reveal something new each day. Stick with me! Will it be hard…YES! Will you want to quit…YES! Will it be worth it…I SURE HOPE SO! Here we go!!!
